I caught a video of Nik the Booksmiths on Suminagashi – The Ancient Art of Japanese Marbling. I had everything laying around but in very cheap versions so I did it real quick before I forgot I wanted to try it.
I set up a white plastic table on the back porch and got out my broiling pan and started. I was caught from the beginning.
I felt the need to use some of the paper right away and so this little book came about.
This is also my first book using sewn in signatures. I normally use Kathy Orta Kings binding system. I believe I'll be doing more sewn in signatures again. This has a three hole binding.
I found this website with a drawing.
It amazes me how much I enjoy making books.
